HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SUMMER CLASSES
Before you go off excitedly enrolling in summer classes for kids left and right, sit down with them and plan right. Remember, it’s not you who will be joining these classes so their opinion should count the most.
Try these pointers:
1. Ask your child what they are interested to learn more about.
It is very important that they choose what interests them so that learning will be more fun. The summer months will speed right by when they are enjoying what they are doing.
2. From their many interests, try to prioritize based on most liked and your budget.
Narrow down their choices to the Top 2 or 3 class they want to join. No sense spreading themselves too thin by taking on too much. They will end up stressed and not happy kids.
Your budget should also be taken into account to finalize what and how many classes they can join this summer.
3. Check out class schedules.
See which class to take first, depending on the available schedule. Make sure the kids have enough breathing room in between classes.
4. Claim your slot asap.
There are many parents searching for the right summer classes so try to reserve your slot as soon as possible. It won’t do for you to shuffle their classes just because you didn’t get into the ideal time slot.
5. If there is a skill or talent you want your child to develop more, try to discuss it with them first.
Sometimes we feel the need for our child to learn a specific skill which will help them in their next school year. Still, sit down and discuss it with them first. No matter how important and beneficial you think it will be for your child, it is still they who will take up the class and trudge through it.
